This course develops advanced linguistic skills in Spanish while exploring the intersection of sports media, advertising, and Hispanic identity. Through authentic texts--such as sports journalism, advertisements, podcasts, broadcasts, documentaries, and social media--students will enhance vocabulary, grammatical accuracy, and critical analysis. The course addresses key questions: How do sports media portray Hispanic identity? How do advertisements influence cultural narratives? What role do athletes play in shaping national identities? Conducted entirely in Spanish, the course targets Advanced Mid proficiency (ACTFL Guidelines) by the end of semester and equips students with tools for academic and professional success.
